4/ Financial institutions have to consider this when deciding on energy projects. The briefing therefore urges international financiers who wish to facilitate the heating transition in the Western Balkans to prioritise genuinely sustainable energy such as solar, geothermal, heat.

3/ Our new briefing shines a light on the risks of planned forest biomass projects in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In both countries, the report shows, burning biomass is accompanied by inadequate management, laws, and enforcement. No-one even truly knows how much wood is.
