There are really complex security trade-offs between self-managed and use of a major cloud. I used to think using the cloud was overall more secure b/c of ease of use of ephemeral instances and such, but didn't realize most companies litter their desktops with AWS session creds.

I agree, we need a better Russia strategy- put a maximum pressure, cripple their economy, isolate, demand demilitarization and decolonization. Leave them without any resources that could help them to wage the war. Make them pay for all the horrors they unleashed.
