I’m overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness and generosity in my last days at Carrick….my favourite gift is this…all my weans singing my ‘card’…you guys are the best💕💕
When school starts in August, all pupils will be provided with their own pencil case which will have pens, pencil, rubber, sharpener, ruler, highlighters and coloured pencils. This will minimise contact with others and save parents a couple of pounds!

What an absolute hero.
It has been sad to see the old school building being demolished these past few weeks. HOWEVER, we learned today that the demolition crew were able to preserve the date stone and have found a time capsule behind it!
We are very excited by this development.

“And the winner is …” moment at BAFTA on Monday as we were nominated for a Place2Be Wellbeing in Schools Award. And we won! Well done to Eden and Thomas who won the Young Champion Award! A truly outstanding achievement and we couldn’t be more proud of you!

The first demolition work began for the new school this week as an old storage shed was removed to create access for the site.

Aimee (2Y) has had a busy season of competing in highland dance championships and competitions across the country whilst training for the World Highland Dance Championships.
Aimee was crowned Commonwealth Champion in Stirling last week, then went on to compete at... 1/3

Congratulations on Caitlin Hothersall 3B who scooped the top prize of a 4-axis camera drone at yesterday’s STEM event for South Ayrshire secondary schools. The prize was awarded to the pupil who could ask the best science-related question and that was Caitlin!

for our S6 graduation ceremony. Great speeches from captains, DJ, Charli, Sophie and Olivia and a musical ‘lookback’ at all those Carrick memories - not a dry eye in the house!

Today David Kidd, Finlay Baird, Thomas Purdie and Callum Skilling represented the school at the Regional Enterprising Maths Competition at

. This qualifies our team for the national competition in Glasgow in November. Well done team!
Well done to the whole school community who were collecting for the foodbank today. We have collected 690 items altogether which is a fantastic number for a wee school.
The breakdown for each house is:
1st – Red – 260 items
2nd – Yellow – 230 items
3rd – Blue – 200 items

Big congratulations to Katie Bryan who won the prestigious Jack Kilgour Award at the Maclaurin Senior Schools Art Exhibition. Katie was also highly commended in the Maclaurin Trust Award category. She will receive £115 and the Art department will receive £100. Well done Katie!

Today Carrick pupils celebrated the spirit of the LGBT community by hosting Purple Friday. Thank you to everyone who wore rainbow colours, contributed to and bought something from our bake sale! We raised £202.80 for LGBT Youth Scotland.
