A whole generation of children fell in love with sport and soccer because of him. Although his health had deteriorated over recent years, Georgie was always in good form and I always came away smiling after meeting him. He was a true gentleman and Carlow will sadly miss him.R.I.P

Some of my best childhood memories were playing with New Oak Boys under the management Of Georgie Ramsbottom. I will always remember the trips to Manchester and Lansdowne Road and the great club he managed to put together with his band of helpers.
