As a guy who's always talking up the trades as a pathway to in-demand jobs with solid pay and benefits, this was one I couldn't miss: The NYS Building & Construction Trades Council's Apprenticeship Works event in Albany. A glimpse into the workforce of our future! 🏗️🛠️

Just got to help @feedmorewny close out "March for Meals" week, when they partner with @_MealsOnWheels to highlight the importance of meal deliveries – and the absolute necessity of anti-hunger initiatives – for our homebound neighbors. Sign up ➡️ https://t.co/PaKIEx3mRZ.

Sláinte to our dear friend, Assemblywoman Karen McMahon, whom we honored during the American Irish Legislators Society of New York State's annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner, held tonight in Albany. Well-deserved recognition! ☘️

The New York State School Music Association, or NYSSMA's All-State Conference Ensemble performed in Albany yesterday, so I got to meet some of the 140th AD's own: Marissa Fiorentino, Macy Gabel, and Mason Crago, from the NTCSD, and Copeland Baker from @ktufsd. Congrats, all! 🎶

Had a great time yesterday celebrating WNY Bike Fest at RiverWorks. A special thanks to @BertsBikes' Jim Costello, who joined me for a discussion of electric bike safety and the legislative package I've introduced to mitigate some of the known hazards of e-bikes. A fun afternoon.

This week I met with members of the NYS Association of Town Superintendents of Highways. Our roadways take a beating here - and safe transportation infrastructure is a quality-of-life concern. As a former Town councilman, their fight for more CHIPS funding is my fight, too. 🦺

I'm continuing to push my bill to moderate NY's hydrofluorocarbon phasedown and realign it with that of the EPA. This will give the industry time to adapt so stakeholders aren't left scrambling. We can't enforce climate laws that are unclear, unrealistic, and unaffordable.

Affordability is on everyone's minds these days. Analysis can be useful; finger-pointing can be therapeutic. But what we need is real relief. I appreciate my colleagues who get that, and I thank Energy Chair Barrett for leading our latest effort: https://t.co/G2GsmC7y4K

Here among my people! Thank you to @ECASBnews for arranging a meeting with school district reps, coinciding with @nyschoolboards's Lobby Day in Albany. We talked about busing, student mental health, the importance of equitable funding, and more. Time well spent, always.

Thanks, Susan and Brian, for the time this morning. We have to do more to protect e-bike riders, especially the young ones. Hoping to get all four bills across the finish line this year.
Hear more from Assemblyman Bill Conrad (@140thBill) on his push for e-bike safety:
