After assessment, it has been established the boy was not seriously physically injured. Our investigation is at an early stage, and we would remind everyone to avoid speculation as to what happened and any potential motive as we work to establish the full circumstances.

#ARREST | A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident in Yardley. We were called yesterday after a boy reported being assaulted in Yardley Park. A man in his 40s has now been arrested and is in custody while our enquiries continue.

#UPDATE | Bristol Street out of the city has now fully re-opened to traffic. We'd like to thank motorists for their patience. Officers will remain at Mango nightclub while the investigation continues.

We have now partially re-opened Bristol Street southbound to allow traffic to turn left down Essex Street. Bristol Street remains shut between Essex Street and Bromsgrove Street while our investigation continues.
