idea on using the COP for immigration cases. I remember first time hearing about “mental capacity”, I had 0 idea what it was but it sounded cool and thought it’ll look good on my CV to help / do some things (still a keen bean law student at that time).

In 2018, a few months into the MMCA project, we did a small 2 hours lecture at UCL to discuss the issue of mental capacity in immigration. Fast forward to today, a brilliant full day of conference on various areas of practice that’s been developed out of @SqueakinglyJen madcap

Incidentally just had a conference about someone under DoLS who lack capacity but was only given 2.5 years. HO refused discretionary ILR as they said local authorities can help him find a rep to renew… you try finding a solicitor let alone one that can handle such complex case
