I believe that everyone has a constitutional right to choose what happens to their bodies in this country. Today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and took away the right to choose. I find this offensive. 1/3 https://t.co/0zC04cJhDb

Great time at the Brighton Heights Bright the Night and Spring Garden’s Light the Night events! Always great to see our community come together to enjoy the holiday festivities. Thank you to all the volunteers and community organizations that make these events possible.

Grant Bar has been a Millvale staple for 90 years, serving great food and bringing people together. This Saturday will be their last day. It was great to run into Judge Matt Rudzki there and hear his connection to the place. My family will miss it.

Great to join @CoreyOConnorpa in welcoming Orr's Jewelers to their new home in the Strip. It was nice to learn about the locally owned business. Thanks to McCaffery for the impressive renovation of the space. Always good to see businesses choosing Pittsburgh as a place to grow.

Until now we had to negotiate lien waivers one by one; this agreement adds county and school reps, speeds acquisitions and shares tax revenue so we can save affordable homes, keep kids safe and help seniors hold their property value. 2/2

Proud to sign the new Pittsburgh Land Bank agreement between the city, county and school district that cements the Land Bank's place as a powerful tool to fight blight. We're tackling thousands of vacant lots and buildings and have already moved about 100 properties. 1/2

Lifelong Northsider Barbara Burns has passed away. She broke barriers, led with heart, and gave everything to her community. From City Hall to Pumpkinfest, her love for the Northside never wavered. Pittsburgh is better because of her.

Congratulations to Corey O’Connor on being elected Mayor of Pittsburgh! I’m looking forward to working with him to grow our neighborhoods, strengthen city services, and building on the progress we’ve made.

Proud to sign the beam alongside all the partners driving Downtown’s comeback. Construction on the Market Square Modernization Project is nearly complete, and this beam will be part of the new canopy. It marks real progress one year into our Downtown plan.

Many in Allegheny County — including families here in District 1 — may face SNAP benefit delays due to the federal government shutdown. Read more from WESA: https://t.co/XGNe4uAuUB 🧵

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, low-income Pennsylvanians will likely not get food or utility assistance they would normally receive in early November.

Love seeing our kids and the neighborhood kids take part in the Spring Hill Halloween parade. So much cuteness and a little scariness on display! 🎃👻 Big thanks to the Spring Hill Civic League for always making neighborhood events like this a priority.

Thank you to my Council colleagues for joining my post-agenda to discuss our city’s vehicle fleet. Working together, we can make smart investments that save taxpayer dollars — not waste them on fixing old vehicles. https://t.co/Z6j5lr36sq

When the city owns the land, we can control the outcome — even give land away for free when it helps create affordable housing. We’ve built the structure and cleared the red tape. Now the final step is securing sustainable funding so the Land Bank can thrive for decades. 4/4

As I said in @PublicSourcePA: “Cleveland, they’re just lightyears ahead of us in terms of their land bank and how they’re funding their land bank. It’s what we seek to do — that they’re doing on steroids.” 3/4

I’ve been working with stakeholders on the Land Bank Funding Task Force to secure $1.5 million in next year’s budget to continue the great work already underway. 2/4

The Mayor’s preliminary 2026 budget proposal includes $0 for the Pittsburgh Land Bank — even though it’s one of our best tools for eliminating blight, preserving and creating affordable housing, and improving quality of life across the city. 1/4 https://t.co/UZl7P4tgRV

The Steelers may best the Browns, but Cleveland’s land bank sets a model for how Pittsburgh could make more homeowners.

Had a great time judging pumpkins at this year’s Pumpkinfest in Allegheny Commons. The kids’ creativity really stood out with some spooktacular work out there. Big thanks to Barbara Burns and the volunteers who have kept this tradition alive for 31 years.

Nearly two years after funding was approved, no new ambulances. I asked City officials if they’d even gone out for bid — they said yes. That turned out to be false. Pittsburgh deserves better. https://t.co/OrpFFRbW5m
