Possibilities:
(a) The ads aren't for sales
(b) Nobody *really* likes the advertised drinks (Coke, Pepsi, etc.)
(c) Mug just likes making Mug and profit is just for sustainability, while Coke likes making ever-more $ more than just making Coke.
@blacknredtext
Whoa, now that I think of it, yeah, i'm 25 and have never seen a single commercial or other advertisement for Mug but I still drink it regularly.
What the actual fuck? 😖
@blacknredtext
i feel like companies with a huge amount of existing brand recognition could just flash their logo on screen for a second and have that be the entire ad
@blacknredtext
I think it might be less about their brand awareness and more about preventing competitor visibility. They keep commercial prices high and out-compete upstarts.
@blacknredtext
I can’t find it right now but there’s some psychological theory that advertising for huge companies isn’t for exposure, it’s purely to help customers who’ve already bought something feel more satisfied with their purchase, leading them to buy more
@blacknredtext
Coke and the likes run seasonal type ads to encourage going out and buying them because cool and refreshing in summer and Christmas coke during winter et cetera

I know that Reese's exists. I love Reese's. I see them every time I go to the store. I don't buy one. After seeing a Reese's ad a few dozen times, I start to think, "I want to go buy a Reese's."
