Absolutely devastating news , our beloved rspb leader and friend Chris Tynan has passed away . I’m lost for words really , he was a truly wonderful person and an inspiration to me 💔 Rest in peace chris x

A walk around ditton brook , halebank A pair of shoveler were a new tick for me here . Gadwall, little egret also on the flooded field . Lots of teal on the brook . Fieldfare, redwings, mistle thrush ,2 parakeet , 2 stonechat and a big mixed finch flock.

Often heard but I rarely see one …todays #patchbirding highlight …I watched a water rail creeping along and then it sat preening for a good 5 minutes in the sunshine 😍

Great views of a grey seal fishing close in on the River Mersey at Oglet this afternoon ..it caught 2 fish while I was there . Bird wise …a flock of 35 wigeon flew down river , lots of great crested grebes,gw and little egrets , large flock of lapwing on the sandbanks . 2 raven.

A #patchgold on todays #patchbirding A female redstart 😍 only my 3rd ever here it was joined by a rock pipit and a few meadow pipits and 2 pied wags over the high tide and then disappeared into Garston docks .

High tide on #patchbirding ..mostly teal ,redshank and curlew Several Cetti’s and water rail heard Highlight was great views of a Jack snipe as I waited patiently for it to show itself 😍 A peregrine was perched on the gantry for a while but chased off by the crows and gulls
