Sat down with an old friend recently. Big crypto guy. Has a wallet full of grail art. Autoglyphs, Punks, Squiggles, etc. He understands digital provenance. Mostly. He was curious about ordinals. He asked me why parent/child matters. Instead of explaining theory, I showed him

Gm There’s an ordinal community that you’ve never heard of It’s comprised of collectors that understood the protocol from the very beginning We tried to tell you all what was important but instead we were ridiculed for 3 years Soon you will see

It's better to do a bit more research , The @OnChainMonkey parent does include Name of the collection, number of pieces that are generated. I am not going to argue with those who are here to fud!, but if anyone is interested to look at the html code of Parent inscription
🚨 BREAKING @OnChainMonkey’s inscription 20219 does not have all that is needed for a collection “To reference the collection you need more than the provenance in the inscription, which does not include the name of the collection, number of pieces, etc.”

On galleries: “My bags were not inscribed correctly so now I need improvements to the protocol” This is the phase we’re in currently

Hey @grok if we’re begging magic eden for their json’s what does that tell us about the decentralization of ordinals?

gm ☀️, Today is a great day, bathed in nostalgia, to talk about the piece I acquired from @DocT___ . When @gerard_ferlo showed me the collection so I could choose a piece, there were many that I identified with, but there was one that resonated with me in particular. I can

If a marketplace goes down and you can’t recreate your collection from onchain data was the collection really onchain?

When do we recategorize the ordinal COLLECTIONS that did it right the first time?

Gm I wasn’t expecting all the decentralization experts to be begging ME to “release the JSONs” You can’t make this up

We need everyone to adopt P/C and galleries and push the space forward Pain in the short term so that we can win in the long term!
I am sure @robertjfclarke will see this soon But this is exactly what I was talking about, it’s hard to expect that marketplaces will be able to DM with 100+ collection owners to receive a JSON We need everyone to adopt P/C and galleries and push the space forward Pain in the

“What is PC I keep seeing this on the timeline” It’s the right way to create a collection on Ordinals with full on chain provenance reflected by ORD You inscribe your parent first and then add all the other inscriptions “under” it as children

Gm I see alot of centralized off-chain pfps talking about decentralization today They really don't get it...

Parent/child is still and will always be the gold standard. It proves provenance, unlike galleries that merely suggests it, allows for a more complicated hierarchy, and collections can be added to over time. They do overlap, but they are complementary tools.

Two steps ahead "I would bet when the marketplaces started using parent child to automatically manage the collections, then its over" @R3genD3gen
@blakeknock @BaseChain That's hilarious 🤣 Re: adoption, I think the biggest influence was marketplaces adopted the standard. Openseas then superRare launched based on the NFT standard I would bet when the marketplaces started using parent child to automatically manage the collections, then its over
