The relationship between inequality and emissions is not straightforward. Unnecessary consumption of the elite needs to be curbed while allowing for growing necessary consumption of the working class. These must be accompanied by a green energy transition. We write for @devchange

By terminating Snehashish, SAU has not only done gross injustice but it has deprived its students of an exceptionally talented professor. I have had the privilege of working with him in the initial years of SAU. I salute his courage, conviction, and compassion! In solidarity!
South Asian University has terminated Dr. Snehashish Bhattacharya, without any due process. The admin is taking advantage of immunity from judicial system to suppress freedom of speech & expression. Embarrassing that other faculty members are too scared to even condemn this.

A wealth tax or meaningful redistribution of wealth doesn't imply a communist revolution. Its funny how economists who are constantly recommended for Nobel have fallacies that appeal to the extreme. The answer? Ppl pwill get aroud it. 1/3 https://t.co/quVmY2asbv

Since the 1970s, there has been a resurrection of pre-Keynesian ideas, in the form of new classical economics, where money is considered to be just a veil and inflation purely a monetary phenomenon....

Prof. Amiya Kumar Bagchi, one of the great intellectual giants of our times, whose sharp, insightful political economy analyses taught us so much about economic processes, is no more. We will greatly miss this major economist and wonderful warm human being.
