My husband works for Costco and can’t work from home. He goes to work at 3:45 AM to make sure his warehouse is ready for you to stockpile. Please, please be considerate of people who cannot social distance because of work! Don’t go to Costco (or anywhere else) if you are sick!
Listen. Simone Biles has 4 Olympic golds. She has 4 gymnastic moves named after her. Three years ago she revealed that she was abused by Larry Nassar & the toxic culture of USA Gymnastics. She is a Black American Woman.
She owes the world *nothing*
We owe her *space*
What if I ran against Chris Stewart in ‘22? Is Utah’s second congressional district ready for a Mormon female Democratic congresswoman in her early thirties yet?
Growing up my church leaders/seminary teachers kept calling us the “rising generation” & the “noble and great ones” but they’re flustered when we ask questions and call out disparities as if we weren’t put here on the earth right now to disrupt the status quo & get it done 🤷🏼♀️
Our ward primary president refused to call a ward member to be an activity days leader because he has visible tattoos. She’s in for a surprise when we go back to church 😅
This is the kind of judgement that plagues our congregations.
Petition to ban—yes, BAN—fireworks in Utah over the 24th of July. Or we can continue pretending that we’re not in a drought and save all the extra water we have for putting out all the fires that aren’t already burning.
@SpencerJCox
thoughts?
Imagine thinking that the problem in Utah is KSL & Deseret News when hundreds of thousands of Utahns will be voting for a man who’s cut checks to porn stars, peddles conspiracy theories & propagates tribalism to the point where some families can’t even speak to each other anymore
The fact that Elder Holland used firearms in a metaphor for defending the church tells me that they’re genuinely not adequately aware of how bad DezNat is
Mitt served me and Utahns just like me.
Mitt was right about Russia.
Mitt saw Trump for what he is: a fraud and a phony.
Mitt is one of the greatest senators to come out of Utah.
@SenMikeLee
will never measure up. He simply doesn’t have the moral compass.
The irony of
@MittRomney
condemning someone for being an imposter on the campaign trail is quite interesting.
Mitt Promised:
Represent Utah BUT held no town halls and worked against
@BasedMikeLee
and rest of Utah delegation
Budget Hawk BUT voted for every budget buster

A few years ago I had a casual conversation with a guy whose church calling was to spend time with long-term patients at the Utah State Hospital (think severe mental illness and disability) every week. I hadn’t known that this was a calling and my curiosity was piqued. /1
The Utah Supreme Court just validated how Utah residents have been feeling for years: Gaslit.
#UTLeg
has repeatedly trampled over the will of the majority. They effectively silenced the minority vote and made a calculated effort to secure a Republican supermajority forever.
Felt vulnerable, might delete later.
Just wanna get off my chest that I’m a compulsive spender as a maladaptive coping mechanism and have subsequently f%#&ed my family’s finances. There’s my invisible but very heavy truth.
As a devout believer in Christ, a committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, and a passionate feminist advocate, I find much joy and peace in the knowledge that our Resurrected Savior of the World first visited a woman after his glorious victory.
If you listen to just one
#GeneralConference
talk, please listen to the talk by Patrick Kearon. It’s everything. It’s why I stay on earth and in church. ♥️
One more thought tonight.
I see lots of weeping and wailing on FB today, particularly from fellow members of the Church of Jesus Christ, about how worried they are about the next 4 years. Joe Biden literally started his Inauguration Day at Catholic Mass.
I swear if I hear “modest is hottest” one more time-
You guys (literally, you males) have no idea how much modesty culture effed up my body image.
My body is not your problem.
The sexual response cycle is real & completely natural but you still have to control your own brain.
I am absolutely convinced that the purpose of the caucus system is solely to limit voter participation by making the process as inconvenient as possible.
Groundbreaking news! We held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first-ever changing table between the House and Senate Chambers. A woman’s place is in the House and Senate!
Inspiring stats from
@JakeRugh
on
@LDS4Harris
call:
-1 in 3 LDS voters cast their vote for Biden/Harris in 2020
-46% of LDS Voters under age 40 voted for Biden/Harris
Here we come 🥳🥳🥳🥳
I wept as his words shifted my perspective from lamenting on how someone else’s trials might inconvenience my life to recalling the many people who succored me through my own Gethsemanes.
I hope this story gives you something to think about this Holy Wednesday before Easter. /4
WI Gov Tony Evers announces he is vetoing the gerrymandered districts passed by the GOP legislature, after they ignored the map created by a non-partisan commission. “I will fight for non-partisan redistricting to be the law of the land.”
Hey
@sltrib
,
@SchottHappens
did a masterful job of holding our elected officials accountable. He asked the questions we wanted to ask. A voice for the voiceless.
Your audience is entitled to an explanation of why you opted to silence a critical voice during an election year.
The amount of men on Twitter who have implied, directly or indirectly, that I am sexually promiscuous and/or must have had an abortion because I’m defending access to safe abortion care tells us *everything* we need to know about where women still stand in US society.
I am happy to announce that my nearly 12-months long protest against 9 AM Sacrament Meeting was successful and we are now meeting at 10:30 starting next week!!!
Brad Wilcox:
“Today I’m going to give you all the reasons to never ever EVER leave the church 😌”
*Proceeds to give demoralized members a list of reasons to run far, far away*
I dunno, guys.
I don’t know if I want to live in a universe where women don’t have the priesthood because they “don’t need it”, but consequently can’t hold any consequential leadership positions because we don’t have the priesthood.
Yesterday we attended in-person church for the first time in a while. Before Sunday school started, two members of my RS presidency sat with me, asked me about school, and gushed over my newest tattoo.
It was exactly what I needed from church. ♥️

@kslnewsradio
Just reported that the UT Coronavirus Task Force won’t be meeting regularly anymore even as cases continue to spike. Beginning to question my vote for
@coxforgovernor
. What is UT leadership thinking?!
Jesus: “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
@BYU
: “You are too nice to queer kids. You’re fired.”
@hankrsmith
Not only did you call him Korihor but you did so in a tweet reply on JP Bellum’s (the very creator of DezNat) account blasting Cal. JP & his fellow DezNat followers have mercilessly bullied Cal for years and you only flamed that fire. The bullying needs to STOP & you could help.
Hi
@UTBoardofEd
,
I am a parent of two children in the Utah public school system. I’m also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. This post from board member Natalie Cline is triggering incredibly painful feelings. My absolute worst nightmare is having my kids victimized (1/4)
I think the hardest part of all this is that my Heavenly Father seems so different than Brad Wilcox’s Heavenly Father. And President Oaks’ Heavenly Father.
As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS
@Ch_JesusChrist
and a survivor of childhood sex abuse (granted it was -nothing- compared to what was shared in the AP article) I can definitively say that I am not okay with all this.
Like Dumbledore’s Army but it’s a group of LGBTQ affirming Latter-day Saints who stay in the Church because we believe and we’re quietly pushing the Church toward true Christianity
@CNN
The amygdala can’t tell the difference between physical, sexual, and verbal abuse. Abuse is abuse and causes a trauma response, regardless of the type.
Hi
@danmccay
didn’t appreciate your “if you don’t like it, maybe America isn’t for you” response to ignoring Dr. Dunn’s medical guidance about masks.
This kind of rhetoric is divisive and unfair. This is not the Utah Way.
This is a weird niche Mormon tweet but one day when I was crying to my therapist about wanting a tattoo (against church policy), my therapist explained that God’s love is like the irrational and unconditional love people have for their dogs and... that completely changed my life
To anybody struggling today, I say: Be hopeful, be happy, and smile. Remember that God is on your side. He is not an angry, vicious God trying to trip you. He is for you—not against you. He is your Father. He is anxious to do everything possible to bless you.
I finally had the chance to watch Barbie while on a flight to Washington, DC last week.
I was traveling to meet with the offices of my all-male congressional delegation to talk about maternal and infant health policy.
My all-male congressional delegation and I have a religion
@anylaurie16
“You shouldn’t take your family on an airplane unless you can afford to pay for every family member to have assigned seats” is kind of a privileged take, no?
Interrupting my Twitter break to let you all know that
@SenatorRomney
and
@SenMikeLee
voted AGAINST advancing the Voting Rights Act.
Two wealthy white men once again voted to keep themselves wealthy and in power.
If you think “Turning Red” isn’t an appropriate movie for children I invite you to rewatch every movie you loved as a child.
“The Little Mermaid” is a good place to start, followed by the movie “Dumbo”, in which a baby elephant gets sloshed and hallucinates.
I chose to write a research paper on how Plan B works for one of my undergraduate courses 12 years ago. The info was easy to find and understand. By now, anyone still calling Plan B an abortion pill is lying or willfully ignorant.
If 2021 has taught us anything about
@BYU
it’s the same thing we’ve known for a long time: BYU harbors a deeply problematic culture that misrepresents the Gospel of Jesus Christ and does nothing to minister to the marginalized.
@BYU
needs massive reform from the inside out.
I’m a genuinely peaceful person but if I were in church leadership when this came to light heads would roll, business contracts would be dissolved, & major restructuring would happen.
The church is run more like a business than its members realize. Massive change is possible.
Don’t you just love Utah’s commitment to limited govt?
No mask mandates!
Go ahead and open carry that pistol!
Sure you can buy fireworks in the middle of the worst drought ever!
But we’re going to need to see concrete evidence if you need an abortion for incestuous rape.
TW: rape
If
@Ch_JesusChrist
is doing absolutely anything behind the scenes to help protect us against DezNat I believe we have the right to know.
As a
#metoo
survivor, I am terrified of the thought that someone in my own ward could be calling for my corrective rape.
We wouldn’t need to hear talks in conference about women being equal to men if it were true.
I know my Heavenly Parents love me. I know I’m capable. I know I’m worthy. Why can’t we be treated as equals?
Why I’m disappointed about Ben McAdams losing:
I work in maternal health/mental health policy and advocacy. This is considered “Social Services”.
When I went to DC in 2019 to advocate for policy, the only two offices interested in these policies were McAdams and Romney.
Spencer Cox is mimicking Mike Lee’s moral freefall. It’s only a matter of time before he’s actively participating in the downplay and coverup of another Trump crime.
Spencer Cox's smug defense during this debate of his 180 on Donald Trump is wild. He was a never Trumper in '16. Then Trump became much worse and now Cox is bowing at his feet. This is a lost man. Morally vacuous. Dick Cheney has found a greater moral compass. It's so sad to see.

@POTUS
:
"Republicans seem to support one fellow, some guy named Brandon. He's having a really good year. And I'm kind of happy for him."
