I just got this absolutely lovely drawing of my "cosmic marble" photograph, drawn by a friend's daughter, and I'm over the moon about it. I love the attention to detail: the out-of-focus stars, the reflections on the ball. There's nothing like inspiring young artists!

I like that you can see the VLT and VISTA in the distance. I remember driving down from the VLT summit after a long night of observations, back when I worked there, looking at the flattened top of Armazones and thinking "man, it's gonna look amazing. " And now it's taking shape!

Sadly not a sassy/witty remark, but still a nice pic I think 🙂
