So two guys with guns shot up the Kansas City Super Bowl celebration, even with *850 police officers* present
And we are supposed to believe putting one (1) officer in every school is going to deter school shootings? Really?
School districts employing police officers did not prevent shootings at:
- Columbine (15 dead)
- Parkland (17 dead)
- Uvalde (22 dead)
Why? Because school shooters are often mentally unwell to begin with. They don’t have an escape plan.

It’s about density. If you have a 1000 cops in a city spanning 30+ square miles, it’s little coverage.
Or you have a cop inside a closet, that’s a lot of coverage.
Likewise, having a few armed guards inside a school would be adequate for a deterrent. Or at the very least,…
@arlenparsa
850 police officers policing 1,000,000 attendees, with many drinking alcohol. That's one officer per 1176 attendees.
The national average for public school size is 519 students, probably averaging zero students drinking alcohol
So, to answer your question, yes.
@arlenparsa
Urban violent crime needs to be addressed by cities getting serious about combating it. From Mayors, to City Councils, to Prosecutors, to police, they all have to aggressively go after violent criminals, even if its politically unpopular to do so.
@arlenparsa
One it doesn’t lol go to your local school the protocol for an active shooter is a joke
Look at the way the room is set up teacher away from the door across the room facing the door kids by the door with backs to the door who do you think they want to live
@arlenparsa
I completely agree, there should be a minimum 4 kitted out retired military personnel at each school, give our schools the safety they so desperately need and give retired vets a new sense of purpose while they adjust to civilian life. Talk about 2 birds!!!
@arlenparsa
850 police officers scanning a crowd of nearly 1 million coming and going from multiple different directions. That’s roughly 117,000 people per 1 officer. The average US high school has around 750 students separated into rooms. Much higher percentage of deterrence at the schools.
@arlenparsa
We already see teachers putting themselves between the shooter and the kids. They are already risking their lives to protect kids. Why not give them the tools they need to protect kids and themselves more effectively?
@arlenparsa
There was one officer for every 1250 people roughly. Not enough to make up for citizens not being armed.
But I see your point. I would like a few armed teachers at the school as well.
