The City of Vancouver held the trump card in the negotiation with Senakw, which needed all city services to proceed.

failed to press its advantage to achieve urban

It’s like plopping down the city of Fort Saskatchewan AB ( pop, 11,000 in 2001) onto 4 city blocks. When I lived in the Fort there was a hospital, 2 med clinics,5 elem schools, 3 junior highs and 2 high schools and 2 rec centers. I can’t imagine putting all that on 4 City blocks

Some of the money comes from us COV taxpayers, property taxes, PST and federal / provincial taxes and Some of it comes from the developers who will profit from these condos. That’s not being done in this case. Why?

the squamish nation is adding 6000 badly needed homes in the most under-developed metro area in north america. it's extremely stupid to then be upset they're not also taking over 100% of the responsibility of the city government.

This is who you’re defending:
Westbank is Canada's leading luxury residential and mixed use real estate development company. "We are a practice dedicated to city building “.
They are the nation , merely hired by them and they will make a pile of money renting luxury units
