Policymakers might consider raising teacher pay, providing more help to new teachers, and supporting all teachers in managing student behavior.

States and localities across the country are looking to DC as a leader on #ECE pay, and now is not the time to backpedal. #Earlyeducator experience is just as critical as their education and should be compensated appropriately as in any other occupation

The @UofCalifornia Regents are handing out executive raises left & right, including 4.6% increases for Chancellors & Chief Investment Officer. All we, patient care & service workers, want is a $25/hr minimum wage & 5% for those above that. So, yeah, we disrupted the meeting.

So glad to see a consensus being created. The fact that nobody denies the basic facts anymore (that money matters) is considerable progress. Does more money help schools? Most studies say yes, according to a new summary.

Louisiana House committee cuts $52 million for childcare from budget ““That $51.67 million that was taken out of the budget in the amendment …allows us not to be able to serve 4,000 of these 16,000 children,” Sonnier said to the committee.” #savetheseats

One of the most maddening things about U.S. family policy is that both sides agree new parents should have time with their babies, yet we can't even agree on 6 weeks of paid family leave, much less 6 months. I'm also tired of talking about child care policy w/o talking about PFL
