To be your mentee was a sheer delight. It's been a surreal & emotionally demanding day today. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to be with you again. There's comfort in knowing where you rest until we can visit again. Farewell, you old man. See you in the skies & in my ❤️.
It’s said a red sky at night is a shepherd’s delight. As I left my office and laboratory this evening for home l felt a bit like a shepherd. In many respects, my life as a mentor of young research scientists is a sheer delight.

I'm speechless yet w/ so much to say. How can I put into words what hasn't already been said by the very many who also share in this profoundly kindred loss? I need more time. But despite this fog, I also feel acutely grateful to my extended Stoddart family. .
