I maintain that this post-election violence could have been avoided if the Peace Council and NCCE had sensitized citizens about post election transitions. The blurred lines between party and state are also a contributing factor. We must do better chale!

Ashanti Regions voter register is at variance with the population and census figures. What we see in this election is perhaps the true size of the region.

In Ashanti Region, 1.1 million people did not go out to vote. 63% turnout is still higher than the national average (60.9%), but that’s low compared to the 79% turnout in 2020, where the national turnout was 73%.
