Only three championships I’ve seen since starting to watch in 2017 have felt legit: Truex ‘17, Busch ‘19, and Larson ‘21. Even if the winner is the rightful champion based on points like Larson this year, the stuff that goes down in the last race can make it feel undeserved.
The driver who scored the most points all year won the title. Take that for what you will. This format still needs to be nuked. I’m gutted for Hamlin. This picture is pre-Phoenix where Larson’will pass Byron tonight. Playoffs need to be gone. Kyle Larson is a superstar
