Early US heart txp experience with NRP after DCD 🔹Improved short-term survival w/ NRP vs DPP 🔹No survival difference at highest volume centers Congrats @abby_benkert @JacobNiall and the rest of the @DukeCTSurgery @DukeHeartCenter @DukeSurgery team! https://t.co/0Obmda2xZ4
In #DCD #HeartTransplantation, normothermic regional perfusion was associated with better survival when compared with direct procurement and perfusion. https://t.co/8gvpxLWJPy

At the end of every #GreysAnatomy episode where somebody receives CPR, there should be a PSA demonstrating the fundamentals of CPR. Doesn’t replace formal training, but may increase rate of bystander CPR prior to EMS arrival. @GreysMedical @GreysABC @DamarHamlin5 #cprsaveslives

Retweeting with a much improved video of these beautiful hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes.
Sometimes I forget how incredibly fortunate I am. Differentiating these cardiomyocytes and seeing them start beating was a good reminder. Pretty sure I have the coolest job ever - I get to operate on hearts in the OR and grow beating cardiomyocytes in the lab! #surgeonscientist

I am so fortunate to be a cardiac surgical trainee at Duke
A @DukeHospital team successfully implanted a new-generation artificial heart in a 39 year old Shalotte, North Carolina man. The patient experienced heart failure. This is the 1st procedure with the device in North America. @DukeHeart | #HeartTransplant
