Holy smokes. A government journalist suggests that Trudeau's tax hikes on doctors will drive them out of the country. The Liberal cabinet minister doesn't disagree, but says they'll just import foreign doctors and give them credentials.

Incredible. Minister admits capital gains increases could cause family doctors to leave Canada. Not to worry, though, she says, we’ll just bring in more foreign trained docs.

Retaining practicing Canadian physicians is vital. The answer to Mr. Cochrane's question is shocking.

Trudeau dismisses plea from doctors to reconsider capital gains tax change. 'We are asking the most successful in this country to do a little bit more,' Trudeau said. https://t.co/vO6KzCzAfF #cdnpoli Find out more at https://t.co/xofn4ZIXij

Glad to demonstrate this joint effort with our @Ornge colleagues, showing the safety of transportation in the prone position. Thanks to the whole team for getting this done. @brodie_nolan @JohnGranton1 @_timothyzhang @riggsy @efan75

🚑 Transporting mechanically ventilated patients with #ARDS in prone position to a large regional #ECMO referral center: safe, feasible & effective according to this experience! Despite severity of illness, overall outcome similar or improved compared with existing literature;

We can’t practice as physicians after medical school without residency - this facade of a solution does nothing to increase the number of physicians without more residency spots

Too many Ontario students are having to go abroad for medical school because they can’t find residency spots here at home. That’s why we’re expanding the number of medical school spots and putting qualified Ontario students at the front of the line.

Over 76% of @ornge trauma scene calls are cancelled because the patient doesn't meet the Field Trauma Triage Standard, yet over 16% of those patients are still ultimately transported to a trauma centre. This causes over a 4 hour delay on average https://t.co/gaiQPcxyvq

We keep hearing how our healthcare system is collapsing (which it is). But that does nothing to improve our understanding. Let’s use a hypothetical emergency department visit to highlight the disaster that is happening every day around the country. Here’s a thread 🧵:

We are so disheartened to see protests outside hospitals today. Hospitals are supposed to be safe zones for the staff working there and the patients seeking care.

Not sure if this happens to anyone else on #MedTwitter, but certain people will message me around August-September to “catch up” & “see how I’m doing”, but after a few messages, will always – without fail – shift to asking me to edit their med apps… it’s clockwork at this point.
