if your first thought is "well they don't all have to be for that", we should ask why the hell not. if your first thought is "making human connection is a radical act", ask how many of these gatherings we've had with little to no thrust in political awareness/commitment?

our enemies have the advantage of a centuries-old social/political/economic system that unites their exploitative, individualistic interests. they don't have to communicate to move as one. our burden is being far behind. that we have to be ever more explicit, while (un)becoming.

we dealing with a system, actors, people who hope to become actors one day, that not only doesn't sleep but plays constant defense(reform). a propaganda machine that constantly reinforces their interests. there shouldn't be a day, event, moment that passes we aren't fighting.

@_dariussimpson I went to a conference in August that made me feel totally dead inside, and I'm STILL recovering. It was almost like it took more time to bounce back from than had I never gone in the first place.

@_dariussimpson The amount of newer professionals missing out on conferences because they’re asked to pay out of pocket first and hope for timely reimbursement 👀. We don’t even have everyone we need in these spaces, I think it’s easy to identify gaps. But we need more.

@_dariussimpson We should schedule a few workshops to discuss this idea and follow-up with a conference later about the results might mean, and then a meeting to decide how to best meet up to go from there

@_dariussimpson I've found that as soon as I break away from any of these I follow my intuition and things start moving. Most of these are just the illusion we're doing something when in reality people's material conditions still are not being changed for the better.
