I think it was pretty clear. Their son died. She got consumed by guilt and grief. He blamed her. He wanted to work through those feelings but she was never open to discuss it and constantly shut down on him. He was tired of it. She tried holding on but ultimately realized she was

Hurting him too much in the process of her grieving. He also wanted a divorce but she didnât want to discuss it and wanted to play âperfect coupleâ. He was more shocked by her finally dropping the facade of their marriage still being ok, than he was her announcing a divorce.

Exactly which is why itâs wild he would blame her. But itâs pretty in par with how a lot of parents deal with child loss. Itâs hard not to blame yourself or eachother.

To me, coming off the heels of the first movie, I didnât get that. It seemed like they worked thru it by the end of the 1st movie. So I would like to know what happened within those 3 years because it seemed like Gavin was just as shocked as the viewers when she announced it
