Writers don't always become writers to be famous or make millions. Authors are born from a passion for stories, for moving the hearts of readers, and from a place deep within that calls us to write. -Joy @joydfanning #amwriting Writing.

Could a murderer do THIS? *lawyer points to defendant doing cool tap dance* I remind the jury that only guilty feet have got no rhythm.

Posts craigslist ad for baby spider plants. Checks email every 5 minutes, certain they are a hot commodity. If I love them, everyone else does too, right? #plantdad

Some people have diaries, some people have therapists, I just talk to myself loud enough my neighbor can hear.

We didnāt talk because we didnāt need to, and I couldnāt have, even if I tried. In that moment it was just us, and the beauty of the midnight bay, and the sound of a lapping tide.

As a kid in OCā1990'sā I remember a front page article in The OC Register with a title like: 70% of OC residents disapprove of LGBT lifestyle. And I thought, wow, 70% of the people around me hate me. Only now can I appreciate that 30% or 5% or 1%... they can change the world.

His face took on the character of the land. I watched the years and elements erode all the contours until there was nothing left but bone sharply jutting from thin, gray skin. He had few interests besides the land. It gave him life while at the same time, it killed him by inches.

Recycled over and over again in the hearts and minds of those who come next. Like a flower from the earth, they will see this gift from you. And you will live on.

And when life is over, it will still go on, eternal, just as great and just as fast, and wild, and uninhibited. Nothing, big or small, is lost. It is preserved by the ripple of kind actions that make their way through time.

Grateful for the wonder of life. Our ability to view the universe, if only through a lens. To know the end exists is to appreciate now all the more. To have hope and love, and know that sadness and fear are just as beautiful and important in their instruction.

They tell you to be patient, but sometimes too much patience makes you accustomed to never changing.

The first hint of gay literature I ever read was, "A Separate Peace." It resonated so deeply, yet at the same time, for me, the truth was encrypted like a secret message. Such perfect symbolism.

We canāt stop the world from unraveling beneath our feet, all we can do is move our feet quicker and hope it will be enough.

You always say you wish love was easy. Yet, you start every new day as someone else. You slip from bed and into the body of a stranger, too afraid to get hurt. Too afraid to find that easy love.
