I am an Asisa, from an Asisa family. Culturally, you cannot ask me about the gender of my child. In the past, it was customary for someone who asked for the gender to stay with my family for 8 or 9 days as a fine or punishment, depending on the gender of the child.
"Do not ask gender" as how?. Na bush baby them born?. Its normal to try and find out the gender of the baby. You either ask directly or find out in a subtle way by asking "what's the baby's name?." The name tells you if its a He or a She.
