@_Flamsey It's entirely possible it was his first time meeting Louie. Louie was only there for three months. The first game takes up to a month, and we have no idea how long Olimar's voyage was before he crashed in the first game. Unless I'm forgetting something.

@Pikmin_Shenron You are. The manual, which Pikmin 2 confirms is canon, states that he had just begun his vacation when he hit the meteor

@_Flamsey Can we maybe focus on the point that the President expect greater things from Louie than from olimar a guy who fought space Pirats and got from a repair mechanic up to a ship capitan it seems like a lot of pressure for such a young man

@_Flamsey If you're saying that 2 happens after 4 then no. Louie is introduced to the pikmin in 2. He even freaks out upon seeing them.

@_Flamsey So many people speak on lore / the chronological order, but they've never even read most of the basic dialogue. Most of the story info is pretty front and center, you don't have to dig too deep.

@_Flamsey I mean, that’s 2 months before the events of Pikmin 1 if Olimar took the full 30 days. Plus Olimar had his own ship so they weren’t delivering together, and who knows how long a typical delivery usually takes. It’s possible Olimar knew Louie only by name at the start of Pikmin 2

@_Flamsey Thats not necessarily contradictory Deliveries seem to be made with a single captain so its entirely possible that he hasnt met louie despite him being there for 3 months

@_Flamsey If Pikmin 4 is supposed to be a retelling of 1 and he recognizes Louie then then yeah absolutely he's at the very least aware of Louie Even if it's not then it's still possible they're acquainted

@_Flamsey He works at a freighting company he's basically a trucker, it's entirely likely they have never met.

@_Flamsey I think it's because of Louie's first mission being the carrots and how the president seems to be introducing him with "Louie here" like olimar wouldn't recognize him (though admittedly some people just speak like that)

@_Flamsey THATS THE THING THO, EVERY LITTLE DETAIL MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT PIKMIN 4 ANYWHERE IN THE TIMELINE! We HAVE to retcon at least SOMETHING to be able to insert it

@_Flamsey It's still possible, if Louie was doing job training while Olimar was finishing things up at work. At the very least, he's likely not very well acquainted with the guy.
