I've known Rep. @ChuyGarcia for decades & like him. But I agree w/@RepMGP, who filed a motion of rebuke today over Garcia's use of old-style, Chicago machine tactics to ensure his chief-of-staff would be the only name on the Dem ballot. It's election denial of another kind!
Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez statement: "Americans bled and died to secure the right to elect their leaders. We can’t expect to be taken seriously in the fight for free and fair elections if we turn a blind eye to election denial on our side of the aisle."

an important part of localism is actually letting local people pick their representatives in Congress, not political machines
Perez: Whereas Rep. Chuy Garcia's actions are beneath the dignity of his office and incompatible with the spirit of the constitution. Now therefore, be it resolved that the house of representatives disapproves of the behavior of the representative from Illinois…

Some fascinating documents here from @RalstonReports, who has a biography of Harry Reid coming out in January. It includes new details on a bit of (practically ancient) political history. During the 2012 election, Harry Reid famously asserted that Mitt Romney had not paid taxes

Here is one sample clip from tonight: “There is a long pattern of [Tucker] laundering terrible ideas over the last two years ranging from him traveling to Russia to sniff the bread and explain why the Russian regime is actually wonderful to saying that the Venezuelan regime of
Not sure if there’s any video out yet of Ben Shapiro’s appearance with Megyn Kelly, but really thankful for his moral clarity right now. Said exactly what needed to be said. Pointed out the “evil” and indefensible things Candace has been doing, including accusing Charlie Kirk’s

This is one of the most relatable things I’ve heard from a colleague ever. Many of us will fully understand why he’s leaving, even if we’re disappointed he’s not coming back. He’s a really good guy. Congress and politics are broken. Staying in the fight to fix it is really
After much deliberation, I’ve decided not to seek reelection in 2026. I’m confident that were I to run again, I would win. But recent events have made me reconsider whether the good I can do in Congress still outweighs the cost to my family. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished

What a huge loss to the United States Congress. @RepGolden has been my greatest ally in the cause of bipartisanship and center-forward problem solving. His courage on the House Floor is unmatched, and our nation is better because of his service. Jared Golden is a true patriot, a

if Dems are willing to welcome more people with Jared Golden's character, independence, and world view into politics — and if some of those people are willing to put 8 years of service into Congress like he will — then our country will be fine read his op-ed in full ⤵️ Jared

Jared Golden is one of the greats. This is a terrible sign for the country.

Underrated reason why some campaigns succeed and some falter: are they actually campaigning? Mills’ campaign is a noun, Platner’s campaign is a verb
@aseitzwald @MaineVillager Another factor… his Senate campaign is the only one visibly happening. Might be the only statewide campaign you can see right now period. Haven’t seen a Mills sign yet, let alone an event

Three months ago, I wrote that one reason I was paying less attention to the online abundance debate is that I saw a clear and significant "Poster-Politician Divide." That is: Online, the response from progressive posters to abundance has been consistently and highly negative.

Shapiro on Tucker, Fuentes, and the groypers: "These people aren't to my right. They're not attached in any way to the fundamental principles of conservatism. And these people have already declared themselves my enemies. I'd be a fool not to take them seriously."
No to the groypers. No to cowards like Tucker Carlson, who normalize their trash. No to those who champion them. No to demoralization. No to bigotry and anti-meritocratic horseshit. No to anti-Americanism. No.
