@bungarsargon
You’re lying about what they said by adding a period in the middle of their sentence. They clearly meant they refute the way their Jewishness has been hijacked.
You’re supposed to be a journalist.
“We stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people.”
More and more Jews are making clear that their Jewish values lead them to speak out against Israel.
I simply cannot fathom the moral rot in someone's soul that leads them to win an award for a movie about the Holocaust and with the platform given to them, to accept that award by saying, "We stand here as men who refute their Jewishness."

Hijacked by who? "An occupation" isn't an independent force capable of taking action; it's a result, not a cause.
So who, exactly, is he actually refuting?
@YonahLieberman
@bungarsargon
Implying the state of Israel and Zionism doesn't align with Jewish values? Many Holocaust survivors founded the state so atrocities in Europe and around the world would never happen to Jews again. You want a period? JEWISH VALUES ALIGN WITH ZIONISM & THE STATE OF ISRAEL. PERIOD.
@YonahLieberman
@bungarsargon
How is that better? It gives no responsibility to Hamas and other religious extremist terrorists who have exacerbated the conflict just as much over the decades. As they say, “It takes two to tango”.
@YonahLieberman
@bungarsargon
He made this statement, when other Jews fighting the war for the survival of Jewish state. Did he mention that 130 Jews including 6 American have been Hamas hostages for 150 days ? Did he at least request Hamas allowed Red Cross to visit them? What a shameful human being , Jew…
@YonahLieberman
@bungarsargon
Nope, the whole quote still means he feels Israel is not legitimate and this war of defense is presented as an attack. All while accepting an Oscar for a film about Aushwitz. He hasn't learned the lessons of Aushwitz.
@YonahLieberman
@bungarsargon
Apparently if there’s 2 different interpretations of what they meant it obviously wasn’t clear. However, it is clearly reprehensible
@YonahLieberman
@bungarsargon
It's a perfectly reasonable interpretation, and makes far more sense (in the context of numerous leftist, assimilated Jews expressing the same) than the only other, which would be that their own "Jewishness" is "being hijacked".
