The Left icon overlooked sexual violence, much like Indiaβs literary and cultural progressives have embraced a man whose rape conviction was overturned.

The state of Pakistani liberal historians β
I seldom use social media for fundraising purposes, but this time I really need your help. A brilliant young student of mine is struggling to pay their tuition at LUMS. To start this fund, I have contributed PKR 100,000 from the royalties of my book. I know this is not enough,

My response to McManus. Inter alia, I criticize his patronizing moralism on Gaza (in which he talks about the "virtue of not picking sides") to show how the political ontology of liberal socialism is unable to give conceptual relevance to imperialism-colonialism.
Continuing the debate on liberal socialism, Yanis Iqbal replies to Matt McManus' response to the former's critique of the concept.

I think this summarises our disagreements. You believe that the influence of imperialism on nordic socialism is "overstated". I believe that imperialism was "constitutive," as repeatedly said in my article using Prabhat Patnaik's extensive work, which you don't address.
To be precise: I was quite clear in framing your objection as my being "insuffiently attentive to imperialism." Not that I ignored it. Beyond that I think the objection that Nordic socialism was heavily integrated in imperialism to be overstated in terms of its implications...

Will respond soon. For now: I never said he ignores imperialism. He admits northern welfarism relies on it, yet still calls those states "the freest and most prosperous," effectively downplaying imperialism's political significance.
