Trojans fall twice in the state tournament to finish the year 33-13. Lucas Swart was filthy on the mound in the nightcap, striking out 13 for the second outing in a row in a 1-0 loss to Excelsior. In game 1, Wayzata ripped 3 triples & 2 doubles but couldn’t stop Edina’s offense.

Wayzata Trojans! Junior Legion Substate A champions!

The Trojans will play Edina or Lakeville North on Thursday at 9 AM at Red Haddix Field in Bloomington in the opening round of the double-elimination MN Junior Legion State tournament.

Lucas Swart fanned 13 & allowed just 3 hits to lead Wayzata past Chanhassen 6-1 to capture the MN Substate A crown. Justin Lesser hit a 2 run homer, Noah Regan a solo shot & Topher Winston 2 doubles to lead the offense. Shaun Ingram got things going w/a 2-run double in the 1st.

Chanhassen outplays the Trojans in all phases, win 11-4 and force a second championship game. Jack Siedschlag had a 2-run single and Nic Beeninga singled twice. The two teams matchup again tomorrow at noon at Big Willow. The winner advances to the state tournament next week.

Wayzata faces the winner of Delano/Chanhassen at 5:30 PM Saturday at Big Willow Park in Minnetonka. The victor will be crowned champion of MN Sub-state A and play in the MN State Tournament at Red Haddix field next week.

Skoros’s no-hitter is the Trojans 4th of the summer. Justin Lesser broke the game open with a long 3-run homer in the 2nd inning Shaun Ingram stroked 3 hits and Zach Boutwell, Topher Winston, Fysher Rowan, Nic Beeninga and Lesser each notched 2 hits.

Wayzata advances to the championship of MN Sub-State A with 9-0 win over Delano in the late game Friday. John Skoro was nearly perfect on the mound, allowing just 2 base runners and striking out 8 in 7 innings while recording the no-hitter.

Wayzata faces the winner of Hopkins and Delano at 8:15 PM Friday at Big Willow. The winner advances to the championship game of MN Sub-state A on Saturday.

Wayzata downs BSM Chester Bird 10-0 in round 2 of the MN Sub-state A tourney. Lillevold struck out 6 & allowed 1 hit in 5 IP. Lesser led the offense w/ 3 hits, including a triple and 3 RBI. Boutwell, Regan & Hansen stroked 2 hits each and Winston knocked in 2.
