The PPP loan that the corporation received was for the amount of $403,527 and that amount was applied for and accepted to protect our staff from potential layoffs. The loan was vetted and approved by the Word on Fire Board of Directors. (2/2)

This post is presented by the CEO & Board of Directors of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries: Information is circulating via social media that Word on Fire, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, received a PPP loan in the amount of $1 million. This information is incorrect. (1/2)

@WordOnFire Thanks for posting this, Bishop Barron. How the Catholic Church relates to money is very odd to protestants, who do things much differently. As a convert, it's still weird to me, but at least I know about it now, so I get what you, and bunch of other Catholic entities, did.

@WordOnFire The purpose of the PPP is to help the workers manage through the financial tough times. Glad the PPP was of help to the staff.
