Just having watched "Tenet," it's embarrassing how badly Christopher Nolan handles female characters. He's either not interested or doesn't know what to do.

The only female character that worked well imho was Moss’s Natalie in Memento. She felt like a fully realized person, not just a cardboard cutout that wears clothes well.

This might explain a bit Bill. A number of my film students have, in the past, produced research assignments on his 'fridging' of female characters.

Oh c’mon ! Shut your mouth ! I am a woman and I feel proud of the way he portrayed Katherine in this movie . Don’t try to take one scene out of re context and start a smear campaign
@WilliamScurry
I think Nolan got too high off his own supply after Interstellar which I thought was fantastic! But Dunkirk already started showing problems with it's storytelling, limp and stale just like Tenet.
@WilliamScurry
Of Nolan's movies, she's one of the few female love interests that doesn't die to benefit the main male lead's story. But then she spends most of the movie getting abused to motivate the main character, so progress?
