“We’d never heard of this extra, but someone sent it to us so we put it on the disc no questions asked”… truly a professional company 🤪
@simonbrew @KinoLorber We had never heard of the company or the extra, David Hughes reached out to our producer Michael Felsher, the company sent us the link and we added the extra. They were asking for a trade that never happened, instead of invoicing us for the extra, they took this route.

Loved how they just seems to go with the first take of everyone’s dialogue. So many odd gaps in the middle of sentences. Shatner lives!

Andrea Arnold’s BIRD is out this Friday! See the film critics (me) are calling “lyrical and majestic” and “one of the year’s best.” https://t.co/BO0P5QyHep

★★★★★ A gritty yet dreamlike exploration of family dysfunction and the search for escape, set against the sometimes bleak, sometimes joyful backdrop of Gravesend. Anchored by powerful performances …

It’s true! @thethirdhan is bang on - this is a wonderful, magical film. I’ve heard a couple of people describe it as “lesser Arnold” - absolute nonsense, it’s one of the best of the year. Out on Friday - do not miss!
Social and magical realism merge in Andrea Arnold’s scintillating Thames Estuary fable about the friendship between a latchkey kid and a smiling wanderer searching for home. @thethirdhan reviews Bird:

Wild that @KinoLorber have been reduced to just stealing exclusive extras from other labels. Talk about not supporting physical media.
As an avid importer of KL discs, this obviously stings like hell. My interview with Roger Donaldson has turned up on their No Way Out disc. Not quite sure why, and not had a penny for it. Not even a disc! It's hard enough being an indie without stuff like this.

You are all wrong about Joshua Oppenheimer’s THE END, which is the best trying-to-ignore-the-end-of-the-world apocalypse delulu movie since Lars Von Trier’s MELANCHOLIA. https://t.co/sDfY1MCSUt

★★★★ Joshua Oppenheimer’s The End is a boldly unsettling post-apocalyptic musical where privilege and denial collide in an opulent underground bunker. Tilda Swinton and Michael Shannon deliver grip…

This is all true, and this movie is being sorely underrepresented in the Best Picture awards chat. My favourite of the year is The Brutalist, but… I think Conclave might be the actual winner.
There’s this "rule" in film editing: don’t show the door closing; just cut to the other side. It's meant to be a reminder to avoid unnecessary or mundane sequences. CONCLAVE ignores that entirely. Characters pause, and shuffle around between lines, as their sneakers squeak
