The public policy stream featured insights from key city and provincial leaders, including Deputy Mayor @AndrewsEddie, @VosJames , the Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, and contributions from the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

The discussion underscored the need for improved talent pipelines, early-stage venture capital, and policy support to sustain growth.

Day 2️⃣ our team outlined economic trends, including foreign direct investment and the Cape Town Air Access initiative, which aims to enhance global connectivity.

The session highlighted Cape Town’s strengths—talent, infrastructure, and a robust biotech network—as well as the need for supportive government policies to drive diversity and inclusivity in start-ups.

On Day 1️⃣ Wesgro moderated a panel with leading voices from Cape Town’s deep tech sector which discussed opportunities and challenges in advancing green tech, AI, biotechnology, and sustainable development.
