There are other trees in London, but this one is the most important. Every year since WWII it is donated by Norway to UK in thanks for the help that the UK gave Norway in WWII and every year it is decorated the same way and unveiled the same way by every Mayor of London since.

Let’s get something straight, these lights are traditional Norwegian Christmas decorations 🎄✨Did yule know, back in 1947, Norway sent a Christmas Tree as a symbol of gratitude for Britain’s support during WWII and a way to celebrate the special friendship between countries 😍

They didn't want my blood, but they probably want yours! I went to give blood today, but due to a v minor medical issue they couldn't take it. Yet they told me they do need donors. As I couldn't help by giving, instead, I thought i'd publicise this...

Look at this magnificent creation, made by a 15 year-old, who has been crocheting since he was nine. This took him around a month to make, for Remembrance Day. He has a Facebook page if you want to go check out his creations, Stanley's Crochet Workshop! 📸 Kristina Jackson.

My Great Uncle Joe, who signed up aged 15 and first saw action at Gallipoli, was sent to the Labour Corps which became Commonwealth War Graves... He had to find these people. A powerful post...

The First World War miraculously produced all sorts of high culture. But every year on this day it is worth watching the ending of the greatest sitcom, which somehow managed to catch the tone of remembrance exactly, perfectly right.
