Why is the Aarhus convention important? It guarantees the public three fundamental rights: - to know (access to environmental information), - to participate (a voice in decision-making), - to challenge (the ability to hold government to account in court).
Deregulation in planning and a withdrawal from Aarhus to block judicial reviews will lead to devastated habitats and decreased biodiversity. It will make it easier for the road zealots to build a road through places like our woods. They were stopped through tough regulations!

It's now or never. This is the last chance to protect nature in the Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Email your MP to keep amendment 130 in the Bill.
Good news! The #PlanningAndInfrastructureBill is nearly law and thanks to the Lords, Amendment 130 has been added to protect nature. But it only stays if MPs vote for it. π Constituents: tell your MP to #BackAmendment130. π https://t.co/dH2ZAXflrr

Can you actually believe this? A swift brick costs Β£35 But this dire, anti-nature government, must make sure it does all it can to maximise house builders' profits Totally inexcusable https://t.co/13zgVEWzEU

This is an absolute no-brainer @SteveReedMP Why won't you mandate Swift bricks in new builds? Save one swift today, and save a species tomorrow.
If you would like to save swifts with a brick with hole in it after a 50 million year old existence then let me know.

The Government has tabled 67 last-minute amendments to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill.βΌοΈ Rushed through with little scrutiny, itβs a shambolic way to reform the planning system. It creates confusion, sidelines science and leaves nature dangerously exposed. (1/3)

Absolutely terrifying - the government is leaving communities utterly exposed to the effects of the climate emergency. We urgently need a plan with binding targets for how this govt will protect us as extreme heat and flooding worsen in the years ahead.

βPlease donβt tell anyone that I decided one of the rarest species in the UK wasnβt worth protecting because I have a good relationship with this developerβ says @RachelReevesMP who is ecologically illiterate. Spread this far and wide. She deserves to be shamed out of a job.
Why is @RachelReevesMP so offhand over "one of the rarest creatures in Britain (that) is an indicator of clean rivers and ponds"? Does she not care about the ALREADY disastrous state of our waterways? Too cosily in bed with developers and their profits? https://t.co/PdIKZW4pEy
