Walk and Roll! We are at Lincoln Park this morning celebrating the annual Walk & Roll to school day! Students who choose walking or rolling to school help reduce pollution and traffic congestion around our city. 🚲🌇

We had so much fun at Walk and Roll to School Day! I’m proud of all our students who are walking, biking, and scooting to get to school every day, on time! 🚲 🛴 Let's keep working together to build a walkable, sustainable, and accessible city for all.

@hsrcinfo @walkrollschool We loved welcoming back @LWVDC ! Guess how many voters they registered? '0'! Why? Because everyone had already registered to vote! Nice job, DC! We look forward to welcoming LWVDC back to future Walk/Bike/Roll days! 🗳️✔️

And last but not least, thank you, @CapHillFound - whose mini grants never fail to fund permits, snacks, giveaways, and whatever else we dream up to celebrate #WalkandRolltoSchoolDay ! (say hi to CHCF Secretary Mark Weinheimer!)

Give it up for our neighborhood schools! Our #ward6 (and #ward7) school families and educators show up year after year, supporting safe routes to school, healthy, happy communities, and public education. cc @SWSatgoding

And we're fortunate to have @DDOTDC team and Director Kershbaum as an organizing partner (have reflectors, will travel :).

We pull this off only because we have amazing partners. @hsrcinfo's @walkrollschool Caroline Mozingo shared that there are 4000 (!!!) registered Walk and Roll events taking place today. We're fortunate to have HSRC at ours!

And of course, the pride of Capitol Hill... the Blue and White Marching Machine! @EasternHS's own world famous marching band!

.@FIAFdn's @NDraisin, who shares that for the first time, the US is aligned with the United Nations development goals are in alignment on road safety strategy! She and son Marlo wish us a happy Walk and Roll to School Day!

.@NHTSAgov's Chief Counsel, Raviv who reminds us that the agency "keeps people safe on the roads" and he walks his own @dcpublicschools students to school!

.@USDOTFHWA's Administrator White, reminding us that safe roads are for pedestrians and cyclists just as much as they are for cars (also, it's staff appreciation day!).

.@USDOT 's Deputy Secretary Trottenberg connecting the dots between national efforts that impact our local roads.

The amazing @DCPoliceDept team who keep us safe! We love to welcome the Bike Patrol Trainees led by Sargent Ibrahim!
