Area of the four triangles I'd 3x1÷2=1.5.
The 4 triangle area is therefore 1.5×4= 6. So 9-6= 3!

i got 3.66 and 4.79 from geometry and algebra
you are using angular similarities where they don't exist

Pythagorean theorem for hypotenuse large triangle. trig to calc angles and sides of small triangles. Sq rt of 10 - 2 small sides = 36. I concur
