The study, published in @AAOjournal, found that pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) – an operating room procedure – is associated with a higher risk of retinal displacement compared with pneumatic retinopexy (PnR), a minimally invasive procedure. (2 of 4)

The research also found that retinal displacement was associated with worse aniseikonia – a condition where the difference in size or shape of images is different between a patient’s eyes. (3 of 4)
