On May 7, members of the encampment asked for support with an aggressive individual. Campus Security and Saanich Police escorted the individual off campus. The individual is not affiliated with UVic and is restricted from re-entering the property.

The majority of UVic buildings return to normal access during regular hours today. We've heard many questions/concerns from our community and developed some FAQs about the encampment that might help.

UVic has been in contact with members of the Palestine Solidarity encampment to discuss the Responsible Investment Policy & divestment. We are committed to maintaining the safety of our community- if you are feeling impacted, supports are available. ➡️

UVic remains open and safe. We are looking forward to the start of the summer term, starting on May 6. Saanich Police are working closely with Campus Security to help keep the campus community – including those within the encampment – safe. ➡️
