I am a veteran Indian Naval submariner. You kindled nostalgic memories of my training days in 1982. Through the pressure chamber, torpedo tube and up the 30 mts tower... WOW. Given half a chance at the present age of 66 , I would like to do it time and again... Thanks.

Me a few years ago, leaving a ๐ธ๐ช submarine laying on the bottom during Submarine Escape Leader Training. Approx depth 30 meters. ~1,5 min after this picture, I stand outside the pressure chamber on HMS Belos for medical checks. Very fast & good organisation! Fun!

Here's the trainer in Pearl. After Escape Training in Sub School in '75, I was made to do it again in '77 by SSBN-611G.
Don't know why. When it's about escaping from a sunken sub, I'm not likely to forget the first lesson.
However, I'll take Hawaii anytime over Groton in FEB.

Breath out and sing God save the Queen on your way up. Don't do it anymore across the pond here because of health and safety but was an experience back in the day!

The only time divers could get the better of us. They used to love to claim that we werenโt breathing out, gave them a excuse to punch us in the gut to force the air out.๐๐
