My fondest memory of chief Espo.after we recovered Sgt Mike Curtin on March 6th 2002, we awaited his wife Helga and daughter Jen’s arrival. Espo waited with us, and when the time came to carry him out , he asked us as a group ,if he could grab a hold. Gentleman. RIP Boss.

Sgt Curtin was a Sgt major in the Marine corps. Commish Kelly was a marine (colonel )as well. Both decorated veterans of foreign war….then respect they had for one another can’t be explained by someone of my like. Only Veterans would understand.🇺🇸🇺🇸
Be well Joe. 👍

They broke the mold when they made him. He was an amazing boss. I'm so honored to have worked under him, where I know he always had the cops back.
