Aldo was such a competitor that he remained excellent way past the point anyone else would have fallen out of any divisions with the quality of opposition that he faced. Others have said it before and better, but someone who kept going until his body just didn't let him anymore.

There'll be misconstructions about Aldo and how good he truly was, but, make no mistake, his was the kind of skillset that consistently tested how good his opponents really were. At his peak? Only fellow greats and talents could top him. And he still fought well past that point.
