Once you’ve read this incisive article by @hannahsbee on the proposed puberty blockers trial (the second one!) you will be incredulous that any sane person could have approved it. “At a briefing on the new trial for p arliamentarians on 3 December, Labour MP Jonathan Hinder

I was interviewed by Italian journalist Elisa Belotti on being a Catholic feminist in Britain today. The preamble is in Italian, but the YouTube interview is in English (link in the Substack post).#21 Lo strappo con l'istituzione

@rejserin Of course trans-identified men have the right to exist. They have the same rights to employment, housing, the vote and personal safety as every other citizen. However, they aren't entitled to enter women's reserved spaces or sports, because they are male.

The cognitive dissonance is intense: as the scale of sexual violence against women and children becomes evident, women fight in the courts to defend female-only spaces and activities and liberals are hand-wringing about the injustice of excluding males.

Answer: it helps girls. It tells girls they have the right to things of their own. It tells girls they have the right to say 'no'. It reminds girls that the desires of boys do not supersede their feelings, their rights, their discomfort or their safety.
Serious question.. who does this help? Literally excluding young girls from activities just because they're trans. This is only contributing to the mental health issues that trans people face due to being ostracised.

It comes as no surprise to me (and many others studying this) that Cass believes the puberty blocker trial is “vital”. Cass, NHS clinicians and researchers are shaped by consumer-led healthcare. When medicine turns into consumerism “do no harm” becomes “buyer beware”.

Many young women are afraid to speak out. Why would you, if your male professors flaunt their LGBTQA+ credentials? These women are forging a path of courage for others to follow - at a university that for hundreds of years refused admission to people “assigned female at birth”.
Another piece in Cambridge's student paper about our recent registration with the university. We are described as "the University’s first society solely for those defined as ‘female at birth’". Uni registers controversial new women’s society | Varsity

Pretty sure most things for women used to be implicitly "solely for those defined as female at birth" until it was decided that was a bit greedy

Hilary Cass admits here she has given in to activist pressure. “First, do no harm.” It cannot be right to derail the endocrine systems of distressed children - a procedure that causes demonstrable harm - because some people “believe passionately” it’s the right thing to do.
If young people ‘believe passionately’ that chemotherapy is a good treatment for tonsilitis, do we need to run a trial to find out if they’re right? Very sad to see this quote from Dr Cass, who apparently thinks we might: “Given that there are clinicians, children and families

We're surprised that @bbcscotcast thought necessary to preface this interview with a "trigger warning". The BBC has a legal duty of impartiality, so can we now expect trigger warnings next time an interviewee claims that trans-identifying men are women? https://t.co/AaLY0H9Q4z

The fact that Hannah Barnes & Sonia Sodha were not allowed to be present at the press briefing for this stupid & dangerous "trial" speaks volumes. Difficult, informed questions would have been asked and the fear was that piss poor, troubling responses would have been made public.
