What makes this scene even more tragic is that Will literally did everything right! Usually in horror movies characters do dumb shit but Will was quite smart. First of all, when he fell off his bike when he encountered the monster, he immediately ditched his bike and ran home.

His face😠he lowers the gun and don’t even fire but why wouldn’t he fire on a monster with no face? Maybe cuz he saw a human. He only said ‘please’ before vanishing, he knew he was in danger but maybe he didn’t see the demogorgon n it was just Henry-[GUNSHOT]

Exactly! He had all the good reflexes, locked the door, called for help, didn’t hide but ran to find something to defend himself. He didn’t everything right

I like how Stranger Things rarely ever relies on it's characters being dumb or unskilled to progress the plot, cuz I remember someone saying that they expected Robin to clumsily trip on a vine in the Creel house, but she didn't, instead they were caught because of an earthquake.

When he was at home, he immediately locked the doors, and called for his Mom and brother, and when they weren't there he called 911 but that didn't work either.

When he saw the monster coming in, instead of going and hiding under a bed or something he immediately went to a shed and armed himself with a gun, but in the end, he ended up getting taken anyway :(
