Have you ever thought of why our human brain recognizes virtual faces as not being real🤖? Could the brain's responses vary when encountering the REAL and FAKE faces? Check our new preprint from the #Neurohum project:
researchsquare.com
Artificially created human faces play an increasingly important role in our digital world. However, the so-called uncanny valley effect may cause people to perceive highly, yet not perfectly human-...

Our new preprint “Cardiac Activity Impacts Cortical Motor Excitability” is now out. In this work, we found that cardiac cycle 🫀 regulates motor activity 👋 through changes in cortical excitability. > https://t.co/apTp08rfhK ⬇️Thread

Great news: My final PhD paper has been accepted for publication in #JNeurosci @SfNJournals. 🥳 We show that respiration phase-locking 🫁 to expected stimulus onsets 🖐⚡️ corresponds to highest heart rate 🫀 (and presumably cortical excitability). ➡️ https://t.co/wnZZxuBUZ1

Hello @AcademicEEG people! If you are interested in studying the connectivity patterns with electrophysiology, please consider using HARMONI in your pipeline. It is the first signal-processing tool for suppressing spurious, harmonic-driven synchronizations. (1/4)

Finally out in @eLife: We find that fluctuations of neural excitability, associated with pre-stimulus alpha oscillations, shape somatosensory intensity perception via initial cortical responses - yet with counter-intuitive modulations of evoked potentials. https://t.co/dyI7apcWJL

Excited to share that work w. U. Lindenberger and @Garrett_Neuro is now out in @NatureComms! 📢📖 Using EEG and fMRI we show that cortical excitability modulation involving the thalamus supports the processing of complex information under uncertainty. 🧠 https://t.co/fJJKWM21yq
