While Miss Richards read the extract aloud to the Y8 class in DEAR today, the students listened and illustrated what they could hear from the story. Thinking about the characters and setting and what they looked like. Good job Y8!

Our Staff Book Group theme for the summer is to read a book recommended by another group member. We were all given a book-twin to swap books with for the holidays! There were also some beautiful bookmarks created today πŸ₯°

We had a brilliant review handed in from Adam Y7 this morning who has decided to try the 16 Before 16 reading programme - his mature insight into the book Vox by Christina Dalcher was amazing and we had an excellent conversation about it!

We had such an interesting discussion in bookgroup today about our 16 Before 16 reading programme. I book-talked some of the books & our Y8 students were happy to start reading & took a book from the selection to read over the summer before they Return in September Year 9!

Our Y7 Spelling Bee team had quick fire rounds today on all of the vocabulary they have learned and practised over the last term. We were seriously impressed with their spelling ability. Only 3 words out of the whole list were incorrect! Well done Y7!! πŸŒŸπŸ‘

Our Y7 Spelling Bee Team & Y8 coaches had fun today in their coaching session by playing hangman with the spelling bee words then matching it to a definition. We then had an intense quick fire round of spelling which they absolutely smashed! #PROUD
