I remember a girl I was friends with came up to my table at lunch and told me “sorry as an Israeli my parents told me we hate your kind and I can’t be friends with you” I was in middle school. I didn’t deserve that. Meanwhile my parents always raised me to be kind to others.

You guys will never understand how much it hurts as a kid to get called a terrorist. For people to avoid you bc you’re Arab and Muslim. I was a kid and all I was back was kind because my parents taught me kindness outshines being mean.

That's awful. It shows how blindly many people hate. No one is born with hatred, it's one's surroundings that drag into it and they often don't even know why they hate someone. I hope she found her own way as she got older and learned how wrong her parents were for this.

i remember when the paris attacks happened people would just freely talk about how arabs are terrorists in the UK with no pushback whatsoever, the narrative was pushed so much

Had a gaming friend in 2012 for 3 months, we were playing daily and when he knew i was a palestinian he told me "sry im israeli we cant be friends" and insta blocked me...
We literally were having alot of fun but idk...
For me whoever is respectful gets my full respect always.

It’s sick how ppl stick to their status quos and pass them down generation to generation and don’t see they have the ability to break the cycle of hate. Sorry you and so many who have to deal with this kind of thing ! We really need more love and kindness in this world- before…

I no am sorry that happened to you. No one deserves to be attacked or hated based on religion or race. How people can hate is just beyond me. It never made sense to hate people.
