I was lucky enough to grow up listening to Ray French on β€œRugby league Round up” on Sunday evenings @bbcmerseysport ,then watch so many of his tv commentary games and then actually work alongside him. This is from when he retired in 2013 .R.I.P Ray https://t.co/GNQW7xtsn9

St.Helens R.F.C. is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of an outstanding servant to the sport of Rugby League, Saint #786, Raymond James French MBE, aged 85. The Club sends our heartfelt condolences to all of Ray’s family and friends at this very sad time.
